As prissy as Kylie is, she can be really gross sometimes. She has the worst gas of anyone ever! Seriously it’s like pure garbage. We tell her it’s not ladylike to poot on others. So now, she tells us to walk away or walks away herself. This afternoon was one of those times. My mom asked her, “What do you do at school? Do you poot on people at school?” Kylie said, “No! I save them all for home!”
My sister, Charlotte, is an awesome photographer. Not only does she do weddings, and senior portraits, but she also does family photos, including ours.
It had been a while since we had her take some family portriats. Kylie, of course, told me why we needed new pictures in our frames. She said, “We really need to get some new pictures, because in these, Amy has a little head!”
We did in fact get some done. Hopefully Amy’s head size is now acceptable for Kylie.
My mom decided to get rid of her dog, Sparky. It seems that Amy has allergies like her dear old ma. Kylie was very attached to Sparky, however, so we tried to thin kof the best way to break the news to her. It turns out that mom found a couple with children that wanted Sparky, because their dog died. Kylie was fine with that, because she said, “everyone needs a dog.” Of course this also made my anxiety filled child want to know about death. Mom told her, “eventually, eveybody dies.” Kylie then asks how many more years she has to which I reply, “100!” Then later that day, while outside, Amy looks at my mom’s other dog and says, “Nah nah! You’re gonna die!”
Since Kylie has started school, she has become very interested in street signs, and signs for businesses. While riding in the car one afternoon, she saw a bp gas station. THe letters were lowercase. She asked, “Is that a b or a d?” I told her it was a b. She said, “Oh! So that says ‘bp.’” I told her it did and that it was a gas station. Amy, as usual, had to put her spin on things. She said, “Well you can be the big p, but I’m the little p.” Kylie tried explaining to her that she didn’t say “big p,” she said, “bp.” Amy was not buying it! She Yelled, “I AM THE LITTLE P KYLIE SO THERE!!”
After that we just let it go. So, I guess Kylie will always be the big p.
Every time the kids whine about wanting something I tell them, “well I want a million dollars.” Yesterday, while watching the news, a publishers clearing house commercial came on. Kylie came running into the kitchen while inwas fixing lunch and yelled, “Mom! You have to go call this number! They’re giving away $5000 to everyone that calls!”
A few months ago chris and I joined the y. I love going! It feels great to exercise. One of my favorite things to do is attend the zumba classes that are offered. My friends and family go a lot too! As I mentioned in the previous blog, my kids hear everything we say around them apparently. They now think that the y is zumba. In fact, they even tell people they’re going to zumba when we go to the pool! It’s funny, because neither one of them have ever even witnessed a zumba class, although I think Kylie and her love of dance would have a blast.
The other night, while eating out, Amy took her shoes off, laid on the bench and proceeded to kick one foot up at a time and shake her behind. I asked, “what in the world are you doing?” She replied, “I’m doing zumba while I eat my chicken.”
Little ears hear every thing we say! My girls listen when I don’t realize it. One of the things I say a lot when I’m frustrated is, “shoot a monkey!”
The other day while shopping with my mom and the kids, we kept getting caught by red lights. After about the 5th light, my mom yells, “shoot!!” From the back we hear Amy’s little voice say, “a monkey.”
As I’ve mentioned before, I teach, and I try to take advantage of teachable moments with my own kids. Coins have been their latest obsession, so we have been working on recognizing them. They like to say that every coin is a quarter. They also know that quarters are what they need to buy candy at their daddy’s workplace
.
Yesterday, chris gave them each a quarter to save for when they got to him that afternoon. Amy asked, “Mama is this a quarter?” I said, ” Yes it is.” She said, “Guess what?!? I have a quarter!”
Kylie is very bossy. And just who is her favorite person to boss around?? You guessed it! Amy!
Today they were playing library. Kylie had to be in charge and try to make Amy do what she wanted her to do.
Amy got fed up and said, “Kylie, you are impossible! Here! Read about it in this dumb book!”
Ok… So, I am not a Justin Bieber fan! In fact, I don’t even know if I just spelled his name right. I have nothing against the kid, he’s just not my cup of tea. I hate the song “Baby.” both of my kids are fully aware of this fact. Kylie learned his song at school and now Amy has learned it from Kylie. Every time they start singing, I say “stop singing that Bieber stuff in my house.” Tonight Chris decided he was going to sing it. Amy ran up to me and said, “mommy! Daddy is singing that beaver song you not like.”
